3 Months

Happy 3 months Layla Grace!! You've made it 1/4 of a year!!! Seems like we should have cake. Or donuts. Or at least big cups of coffee.

Layla us starting to find her voice which is awesome...and also completely alarming. She'll be chilling and suddenly, completely out of nowhere, she'll let out the biggest screech from the tiniest body. It's super cute as long as she isn't next to your ear.

Lily has been keeping busy too. We recently discovered a nearby splash park. It's the perfect remedy to hot summer days!!

Total Eclipse of the Heart/Moon

Well...the sun got mooned and we are still all here! No rapture, no spontaneous combustion and no burned retinas. There was a lot of hype and people were kind of going crazy about it but the eclipse did turn out to be really cool.

We had some eclipse food...Sun Chips, ham and cheese crescent rolls, Capri Sun and Star Crunches. (If Star Crunches don't take you back to elementary lunch, I'm not sure what will.)

Now...what to do with the glasses. Maybe we should keep them, just in case we happen to be around 100 years from now. We might neeeeed them.

Don't worry...our retinas are fine. This picture was taken when the sun was completely covered.

And what was Layla doing during all this commotion?

Summa Time

Summa, summa, summa time.

You might have noticed that Lily is wearing the same dress in all those pictures. That was an interesting day. She had a lot of energy...more than normal (which is saying a lot).

Also, guess who rolled over the other day??!! I thought it was a bit of an accident...but then she did it twice! Layla has started "talking" which is pretty much the cutest thing ever. Is there anything sweeter than baby coos? Well, maybe sweet sister hugs.

Half the Birthday, All the Fun

Happy half birthday to the one and only Lily Girl!!!! In honor of her awesomeness, we had fruit snacks for breakfast, rainbow cupcakes for lunch and pizza for dinner.

(Feb 2017)

(July 2017)

Can you believe the difference 6 months makes? Not only is her hair longer but she is so much more independent. Lily can empty the dishwasher, read her books quietly and tell me when she needs to go potty. She can count to 10 (with the exception of 7...but who likes 7 anyway), she knows part of her ABCs (but normally ends up adding some numbers) and she is a great helper with little sister. Lily loves pretty much everything, unless she's tired and then she dislikes pretty much everything. Every day with this chica is an adventure and we love her so very super duper much!!!!
