Since this app seems to work (woooohooooo), let's take a little stroll through the month of May...or at least the first half of the month. 

We took some time to chill. 

And we got a new cookbook. May the 4th be with you friends. 

We went to the zoo with some friends...and apparently every elementary school within a 70 mile radius. It was still fun...crowded but fun. 

We've eaten noodles by the handful, taken lots of silly pictures and learned to fly with Ms.Tika. AND it's only 3 weeks until Lily Girl enters big sisterhood so we've been preparing for that too by cleaning and napping and reading lots of books about awesome big sisters. 3 weeks!? I should really get back to cleaning...or napping. 

  

Happy Mother's Day!!

Okay...so I found a new app that will let me post...maybe? Or at least it better. Don't tell me I wasted .99!! 

Let's chat about Mother's Day. How was yours? Hopefully it was full of hugs and kisses and flowers and sunshine. Mine, well, mine was memorable. 

Husband was great and got me a couple things I really appreciate...a phone charger since my phone has been slowly working its way to the phone graveyard. And Husband got some super sweet family shirts that I will wear proudly (whenever I can actually fit into it). But, if we are being honest, I really only wanted 2 things for Mother's Day...a nap and a piece of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. It was an 0 for 2 kind of day. 

Lily was being a squirrel after church so I did a quick check of her room to make sure there wasn't anything dangerous or destructive and then I put her down for a "nap." Notice how nap is in quotes? Yeah. After her nap we walk in to find...

Which resulted in a whole bunch of this...(baby powder baths)

Lily had Vaseline covering, well, everything. Including herself...from her head (as you can see) to her toes. We tried bath after bath after bath with nothing but a greasy result. Today is Thursday and she is finally a normal looking human again. The key? Charcoal shampoo. Yeah, I didn't know it was a thing either. But maybe write that in your diary just in case you ever need it. Or you could just throw away any and all Vaseline and vow to never buy it again. That's the route we're taking.

Happy Easter Time

How great has this weather been?!  We've been spending lots of time outside...blowing bubbles, decorating with sidewalk chalk, going for walks. 

 

 

We've taken some time to stop and smell the flowers.  Despite the face, they smell fantastic!!

We've even gone on a couple adventures...like visiting the kite festival!!

 

Easter was fantastic!  I intended to take some super cute pictures of Lily Girl in her Easter dress but the day got pretty busy.  We did have time, however, for some egg hunting and some candy eating.  Priorities.  :)

 

 

Also, guess what??  7 more weeks until Lily Girl becomes a big sis!! 

Happy Spring!!!

Happy Spring guys!!!! The trees are budding, the grass is turning green and things are busy.

 

Lily Girl moved into her new room with her new big girl bed!! She has been doing a great job. I thought she would be up 1,000 times every night to play with her toys or read books but I was very wrong. I'm not sure she realizes she can get out of the bed without an adult there. When she wakes up, she stares at the baby monitor camera and yells "Mama!! Daddy!!!! Jaker!!!!!" until someone comes in. I must admit, I'm not always the most prompt responder because it cracks me up. I'm sure she'll start exploring her freedom before too long but until then, we are pretty much living the dream. 

Also, Lily is learning to use the bathroom. In case you were wondering, that is a HUGE deal!!! We started last week and she has had three accident free days so far! Turns out M&Ms are pretty good motivation. 

We have 12 more weeks until New Baby arrives and Lily might not understand what exactly is happening but I'm sure she'll be a fantastic big sister!! She's been practicing with her dolls and is slowly learning that babies shouldn't be held by their heads. Progress is progress!!!

It's almost Lily's birthday which means I'm almost the parent of a 2 year old!  Feel free to send extra prayers...and bags of coffee.  It's amazing to see how much Lily Girl has grown and changed this year.  So here's a flashback from each month.  Was she ever really that little?

Yikes.  I wasn't feeling nostalgic until now.  Tissues please!

And the Gender Is....

We went to the doc and found out the gender of Baby Cupcake today!! And it's a....

 

 

That's right!! It's a girl!!! We are totally and completely excited!! The doc said Cupcake is measuring right on track. We saw the heart and the tiny little hands. Next month they will do another ultrasound. Most of the major organs should be developing so they will count lungs and eyes and such.

Also, the guy in the picture is my brother-in-law.  I made a batch of cupcakes and filled one of them with some colored frosting.  I figured if I'm going to be putting one some weight, other people should too.  :)

Lily hasn't quite grasped the concept of a new little human but that's okay...I'm not sure I have either. I guess we have about 5 months to figure it out!

Update

I know, guys.  I'm pretty much the worst at blogging.  You probably stopped checking it because I haven't updated anything in so long!  I don't blame you.  But I do blame Blogger.  They deleted the app that I used to post!  Who does that?  So now posting involves e-mailing pictures to myself and signing onto the website and blah blah blah.  It's like a 4-step process now.  I'm more of a 1-step process kind of girl.  But I'll try to do better. 

So let me update you on a few things.  Let's start with Halloween (yeah, it's been that long since I've posted).  We live in Missouri and Halloween weather can be unpredictable.  So we planned for warm and cold...because we're just that cool...and because Pinterest exists to provide 1,000 costume options.

And she was cute in both.

And then there was Thanksgiving.  We had lots of great family time with the Texas cousins!!  Lily has only asked about them every day since they left.  It was great to have some people around to play with.

Speaking of playmates, Lily is getting her very own sibling!  I think she'll be excited?  Well, I guess it doesn't matter how she feels about it because it's happening...in June. 

So, there you have it.  See you again in 3 months?  Just kidding.  :)
