4 Months of Fun

It’s been 4 months of fun with this little muffin!!!

At Layla’s 4 month check the doc said it’s time to give her some real food (what??!!). I know, I know...she’s only 4 months. But the doctor suggested, and even encouraged, starting solids, especially the ones that can cause allergies (eggs, wheat, peanut butter). Can you believe that? Guess I should break out the biggest bibs we have and start pureeing some peas.

Layla is getting better at napping and sleeping. She dropped down below the 1st percentile in weight. It’s probably because she’s only been getting up once or twice a night to eat. I’m not worried about it. I’m sure her percentile will increase when she discovers french fries and ice cream.

She’s working on her rolling skills and is experimenting with putting everything in her mouth. Lily is really great at helping Layla put things in her mouth...which isn’t always really great.

We love our little Layla Bella!! Happy 4 months chica!!!

Pictures

Pictures...because they're cute and you can't stop me.

When toddlers "help" in the kitchen...

Man, there are lots of crazy things going on in the world! Hurricanes and earthquakes and crazies shooting off weapons and such. It makes me love these cute smiles even more.

Sometimes when you're going for a walk, you just have to take a break...especially when it's 90 degrees in September.

And when the sun is too bright, you can get out the umbrella for a little shade.

Or, if you prefer, you can stay inside, take naps and work on licking everything within your reach.

Either way, we're safe and happy. And we are praying for those who aren't.

Don't let the cute picture fool you...this little string bean has been playing a game called "Cry All Night." Let me tell you how the game works. Step 1: cry all night. Step 2: fake everyone out by crying all day too. This is currently my least favorite game and I'd really like to stop playing. I'm not sure what's happening. Maybe she's getting teeth? Maybe I ate something and she wants me to know she really hated it? Maybe I accidentally picked up a tiny monster while I was at the grocery store the other day? Not sure. But I'm tired.

In other news, we watched the Chiefs the other night. Did you catch that game? It was a good one, if you are a Chiefs fan. If you're a Patriots fan, well, why are you even reading this? I'm pretty sure I don't know you. Stop creepin on my fam and go eat a sandwich.

And now, for your reading pleasure, I'm going to include a segment called, "Things I've Said to My Toddler."

"No!!! Do not try to ride your sister like a pony!"

"Stop patting Layla's head with your foot. (5 seconds later) Stop patting Layla's head with your toes. (3 seconds later) Just stop patting Layla's head!"

"Listen, I know you love her but she is not your Layla. Other people can love her too."

"Oh. My. Goodness. Do you have applesauce in your eyes?!"
