I Am the Luckiest

I really am the luckiest...except luck has nothing to do with it.  Blessed is a better word to describe my life. There are days when stupid despair rears its ugly head and makes me wonder if my life has counted...if I've done anything of value...if I have made any difference. And when those days happen in the future I hope I can look at this post and remember that I and Husband and Tiny Baby Girl are loved beyond what we could even imagine.

Before I left my job at both elementary schools, the staff did something so sweet and I'm happy to have my last day be one I can totally cherish.  One school had a baby shower in the morning with muffins and bagels and presents.  That's pretty much the best way to start out a day.

And in the afternoon, while I was at the other school, I was outside helping kids load into their cars and when I came back into the building, the teachers were lining the hallways singing a song with my name.  It was so unexpected and sweet and caught me so far off guard that I could only cry happy tears.  "Parting is such sweet sorrow"...I now understand what that phrase means.

The cherry on top was a baby shower at the church over the weekend.  It was Saturday, the weekend, family time.  I was expecting a couple people, maybe ten or twelve...and I would have been overjoyed with only a few...but my expectations were blown away when I walked in and there were more people than I could have even imagined.  We decorated diapers and measured my belly, ate some delicious cake and drank some fantastic punch and laughed...until my face hurt and Tiny Baby probably thought I had lost my mind.

I am so lucky to be surrounded by fantastic people.  Nope...not lucky.  Extremely and incredibly blessed.
