I have officially entered a new decade of my life.  When I mark my age on forms, I have to select the 30-39 option.  I can't be considered part of the "20 Something" group at church.  And I'm halfway to 60.  60!  But, honestly, none of those things bother me.  I'm excited for this decade.  After all, we are 9 days out.  That's single digits!!  Saying we are excited would be an huge understatement.  I know people say new parents are never truly ready and I believe that.  It would be hard to be completely ready for a life-altering change.  But as far as ready goes, I think we are as much as we can be.

A couple years ago I took a motorcycle class.  We spent most of one day in a classroom learning the mechanics of riding...how to stop, how to lean, how to avoid obstacles.  By the end of the day, we had gathered as much knowledge as our brains could take and we were ready to get on the motorcycles and try it out...and maybe fail but at least try.  I think that's how Husband and I feel.  We've gone to classes, read books, talked to other parents and we are ready to try.  It won't be perfect but if you want to learn to ride, you have to put the kickstand up sometime!
